Rachelle and Stephen - The Worthington Inn
Rachelle and Stephen’s late summer wedding at Worthington Inn at Four Corners Farm in Worthington, Massachusetts, was truly made by hand. Surrounded by close family and friends, they built the day themselves, with everyone pitching in to make it happen. It felt less like a production and more like a community coming together to create something for two people they love.
Rachelle grew all of the flowers herself, tending them through the season before cutting and arranging them into bouquets for the wedding. They refurbished a dresser for the day, complete with their wedding date written into the mirror, and when it was time to move it from the ceremony to the reception, a friend simply helped carry it along. Nothing was overly precious; everything had a purpose, a story, and a person behind it.
When it came time for portraits, Rachelle told me to go totally off script and wild with it. So we did. We wandered the property and eventually found ourselves in the tomato house, making some of my favorite photographs of the day among the rows of plants. It was playful, unexpected, and completely theirs.
That spirit carried through the entire celebration—the flowers grown from seed, the refurbished furniture, the friends moving things from one part of the property to another, and all the little acts of care that made the day possible.
A homespun, community-built wedding in the last warm stretch of summer, made by hand and made together.
